Artist’s Quote:

The painting “Bread of Love” is my simple response to the charity project Make Loaf Not War. In my life, I’ve experienced hunger more than once, and I know how hard it is not to have food on the table.

That’s why I wish for a world where no one ever has to go hungry. War and hunger are the most terrifying and repulsive things on Earth.

The loaf in my painting stands as a counterweight to suffering and despair. It represents the very first thing that comes to the mind of a starving person bread. Bread as a symbol of life. A symbol of hope. One simple loaf of bread becomes more valuable than gold, more valuable than anything. Just one loaf can save a life. Just one loaf can bring hope.
