Artist’s Quote:

While creating these diptych, I attempted to look at bread as a universal symbol of subsistence as well as a reference to the cultural code. In the work, a golden loop of bread fragments brings together images of farm labor, architectural decoration, maps, and transport networks as a symbol of the unlimited cycle from cultivation to distribution.

In many societies bread is still seen as carrier of memory, that has been permeated with sacred meaning in art for centuries.

The loop is therefore a symbol of solidarity and continuity of human experience.
